Why This Project Matters

Skin discomfort caused by dryness, sensitivity, irritation and a compromised skin barrier can significantly affect an individual's physical comfort, confidence and overall quality of life. For many families, particularly parents and caregivers, managing recurring skin concerns can be emotionally, socially and financially challenging. Despite the growing prevalence of sensitive skin conditions, there remains a need for greater community education, practical support and locally relevant research. The Sensitive Skin Research and Community Impact Project seeks to bridge this gap by bringing together healthcare professionals, scientists, students and community members to better understand skin barrier health, generate meaningful insights through observation and research, support skills development, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that promote healthier, more resilient skin for all.
